Sport

The sporting program at St Brendan’s College features a rich and enduring tradition, playing a pivotal role in shaping the individual and collective experiences of our students.

St Brendan's College offers a diverse array of sporting opportunities tailored to students of varying skill levels. Engaging in sports not only contributes to the development of self-esteem but also fosters confidence, and imparts essential skills in time management, teamwork, and leadership.

Wearing the iconic green and gold, synonymous with our College, St Brendan’s actively participates in the Rockhampton District School Sport (RDSS) Competition. This competition brings together schools from the district, such as Yeppoon State High School, Emmaus College, North Rockhampton State High School, Lighthouse Christian College, Heights College, Rockhampton State High School, The Rockhampton Grammar School, The Cathedral College, and Mount Morgan State High School.

Our involvement in District Competitions encompasses a wide range of sports, including Water Polo, Futsal, Basketball, Football (Soccer), Cricket, Rugby League, Rugby Union, AFL, Volleyball, and Chess.

Beyond District Competitions, St Brendan’s College takes part in various other contests, such as the Ballymore Cup, CQ 7’s Rugby Union, Bill Turner Cup, and All School’s Touch Football.

In addition to Interschool Sport, the college hosts an extensive Interhouse Competition where students from sporting houses Duhig, Gettons, Tynan, and Hayes engage in friendly competition across a spectrum of activities. These activities include Swimming, Cross Country, Track and Field, Showcase, Lunchtime competitions, and Academics. This holistic approach to competition underscores our commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals within the St Brendan's College community.
