We recognise that choosing a school is an investment in your son's future. Our comprehensive fee arrangement guarantees minimal out-of-pocket expenses for families, allowing you to distribute payments evenly throughout the school year via weekly, fortnightly, or monthly installments.

The College requests families to contact the Accounts Receivable Officer if they need help with payments. While the College is sympathetic to families experiencing financial difficulties, families are expected to make every effort to pay the full fees and respond to all related communications.

2024 FEES
LIVING AWAY FROM HOME ALLOWANCES (LAFHAS)

This form must be submitted by the 31st of December within the year of application.

  1. Remote Area Tuition Allowance (RTuA) - to help with payment of tuition fees (paid directly to approved, non-state, primary or secondary schools at which the students boards).
  2. Remote Area Travel Allowance (RTrA)- to help with travel expenses for distances more than 50km. (Paid directly to parents.)
  3. Australian Remote Area Disability Supplement (RADS) – (Paid directly to parents.)

TEXTBOOK AND RESOURCE ALLOWANCE

This allowance is available for all secondary students and is funded by the government. Parents do not need to apply, as the school handles the claim process on their behalf. This ensures that students receive the necessary textbooks and resources without any additional effort required from parents.

CONVEYANCE ALLOWANCE

Queensland Transport – must be claimed by the 31st December of the current year. For students who reside more than 4.8km (Secondary) or 3.2km (Primary) from the nearest State school with the required year level.

Contact Queensland Transport on 13 23 80 and ask for the School Transport number for your area. This link will take you to the Department of Education's Transport Assistance page.

TRANSPORT ASSISTANCE SCHEME

Available for students attending non-state schools outside Brisbane City Council boundary who spend over $35 per week on transportation. Eligible for those using publicly available services not owned or chartered by the school.

Apply online twice each year by visiting the QCEC Non-State Schools Transport Assistance website. 

  • 1st May to 31st May - to claim for bus fares (or SWD travel) you will have paid for January to June - Semester One (Terms 1 & 2)
  • 1st October to 31st October - to claim for bus fares (or SWD travel) you will have paid for July to December - Semester Two (Terms 3 & 4)

Remember to keep your receipts.




BYPASS SCHOOLS

Even if you reside close to certain secondary schools, you could still qualify for allowances to send your child to boarding school. Eligibility varies based on the year levels.

ASSISTANCE FOR ISOLATED CHILDREN (AIC)

Must be claimed by the 1st March in the year following the study.

  1. You live at least 16km (by the shortest practicable route) from the nearest state school with the required year level and at least 4.5 km from the nearest transport.
  2. If you live less than 4.5km from transport, a student may still qualify if the family home is: -
    1. At least 56km from the school via the transport service; or
    2. At least 3 hours of traveling time per day to and from the school via the transport service.

You can claim for the following allowances:

  • Boarding Allowance - income test free. [For families with low income, a means-tested Additional Allowance is available] Students aged 17, participating in an approved tertiary course at an Agricultural, TAFE or similar College are also eligible.
  • Second Home Allowance - for a second home maintained by the family for education purposes only
  • Distance Education Allowance - for prep, primary and secondary level.

Remote Area Allowance for eligible individuals aged 16 to 24. To qualify, you must meet specific income criteria, including personal and parental means testing.
