St Brendan's College in Central Queensland operates on the core principle that educating boys differs from educating girls due to physiological variations in brain structure, language and memory development rates, hormonal changes, and differences in social reasoning and anger management. The College's Pedagogical Framework (A.S.P.I.R.E) is rooted in research from renowned boys' educators, guiding teachers in addressing these variations. Techniques include chunking lesson time, employing inferential questioning systems, and using scaffolded assignment tasks.

Journey Groups, based on students' achievement in English, Mathematics, Science, and Geography/History, allow tailored learning strategies, promoting flexibility as students can move between groups. The College's behavior management prioritises respect, with a focus on restorative justice for bullying incidents and a Responsible Thinking Centre for self-reflection and goal-setting. The environment fosters boys' well-being through experiences that promote friendships, rites of passage, and a sense of belonging.
